I hate how people always say you need both consoles to enjoy gaming. I think it's perfectly within reason to be satisfied with the gaming experience you get from only a Sony console.

Ok. Isn't an article about the PS3 being in 3rd place a bit redundant, now? I mean the media loves to shovel RROD under the rug or the great year the PS3 actually had, but love to jump on Sony when they are down?

Well, Call of Duty didn't start to be a real blockbuster until Cod 4 came out. The others didn't sell 10 million copies. It was because of great production values, great gameplay, and great online. Also, look at a game like Gears, people definitely don't buy it solely for it's online- just the over all great package.
Dammit! I wish my 360 was a PS3...
I want most of the games on the PS3 anyways, why do you think I always celebrate when a PS3 exclusive goes multi? Or buy an HD movie playing add-on for my 360? Or download WHOLE games even though installing is stupid and I prefer playing my favorite games, even on 4 SEPARATE discs?

Why? It's not realistic now. But, let's break down the facts...
FACT: The PS3 is estimated to be at 19.3mil units sold for 1/1/09. The 360 is estimated to be at 27.5mil units sold for 1/1/09. SHIPPED numbers for last year, 1/1/08 were 10.5mil for the PS3 and 19mil for the 360. Yeah yeah, the PS3 is doomed (enter random generic site here: etc etc)
